Ministers' Business Session - Friday, October 2, 2009Day 2 of the Ministers' Business Session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM CT. Elections, appointments, and resolutions results will be posted in real time as they happen.

Day 2 of the business session was adjourned.

The conference offered a "standing vote of thanks" for the way Brother Haney conducted our business during the General Conference.

The conference is voting on Resolution 6. Resolution 6 passed.

The conference is voting on Resolution 5. Resolution 5 passed.

The conference is voting on Resolution 4. Resolution 4 passed.

The conference is voting on Resolution 3. Resolution 3 was defeated.

The conference is voting on Resolution 2. Resolution 2 was defeated.

The conference is voting on Resolution 1. Resolution 1 was referred to a commission to study the issue relating to Resolution 1, which will be presented to a future conference in resolution form.

Brother James Beardsley
, Brother Garth Hathaway, Brother John Putnam, Sister Janet Trout, and Brother Jesse Williams were appointed as Urshan Graduate School of Theology Board members.

Brother David Hodge was appoinetd as a Media Missions Radio Commission Member.

Brother Jimmie Swank was appointed as a Media Missions Radio Commission Member.

Brother Norm Paslay was appointed as the Dierctor of Media Missions.

Brother J. Mark Jordan was appointed as a Board of Publications Board member.

Brother J.M. Russell was appoitned as a Board of Publications Board member.

Brother Arless Glass was appointed as a Division of Education Board member.

Brother Ken Gurley was appointed as a Division of Education Board member.

Brother J. Hugh Rose was appointed as a Division of Education Board member.

Brother Dan Batchelor was appointed as the Superintendnet of the Division of Education.

Brother Richard Flowers was appointed as a Foreign Missions Board member.

Brother Manuel Rogers was FMB member.

Brother Lloyd Shirley was appointed as the Director of Education and AIM for the Foreign Missions Division.

Brother Mike Rickenbacker was appointed as the General Chaplain.

Brother Kenneth Haney was appointed as an honorary Board member.

Brother Haney opened day 2 of the Business Sessions in prayer for God's divine direction.

Brother Dan Batchelor is promoting the different capacities in which the Board of Trustees serve. Because Brother Darrell Johns accepted the presidency at Gateway College of Evangelism, he has resigned from the Board, but will continue to serve on the Board of Regents. Brother Robin Johnston is promoting the reprint of the 1945 Pentecostal Herald and Reflections: The Conferences in Saint Louis Missouri, a package of publications from the General Conferences from 1951-1953 held in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Brother Shay Mann is reporting a record attendance of over 18,000 at the 2009 Youth Congress in Nashville, Tennessee. Brother Mann also reports that there was a "dramatic increase" in participating in Apostolic Youth Corps. There is a new youth Bible Study called Follow. There is a media supplement with the Bible Study itself. The discipleship Bible Study to follow-up Follow is known as Forward. Learn more about the General Youth Division. GO.

The conference voted to extend the order of the day until 2:30 PM CT.

Brother Howell is sharing reports from the Foreign Missions Division that ministers and pastors from many different denominations around the world are being baptized in Jesus' name.

Brother Carlton Coon is recommending Ephesians by Carlton Coon.

Brother Paslay is recommending Sharpening Your View by J. Mark Jordan.

Brother Bill Davis is sharing book recommendations such as The Attributes of God by AW Tozer, Overcoming Life's Disappointments by Harold Kushner, and Who Needs God by Harold Kushner.

Brother Mike Williams is promoting Apostolic Man. A new Bible School was just finished on foreign soil and a new Church in a Day was just completed here at home. Apostolic Man has produced a Bible Study for men to teach to men. Learn more about Apostolic Man here. GO.

The conference is voting on the Assistant General Superintendents, Director of Foreign Missions, Director of Home Missions, Director of Sunday School, and the Youth President.

has been elected as the General Superintendent.

Brother Don Hanscom is promoting All Nations Sunday, which will be held on October 18, 2009.

The conference is voting on Ministers Appeals Council cadidates, Regional Executive Presbyters, and the Ladies Ministries President.

Three men were nominated for General Superintendent: David Bernard, Jerry Jones, and Wayne Huntley. Brother Huntley withdrew his name.

The conference is voting to nominate the General Superintendent.

Three men were nominated for General Superintendent: Paul Mooney, David Bernard, Jerry Jones. The conference is voting on these three candidates. Brother Mooney just withdrew his name from consideration.

Brother BJ Thomas is promoting the Ministers' Retirement Fund.

Brother Haney has announced that he was not re-elected as the General Superintendent.

Brother Copple explained the voting guidelines. The conference is voting for the General Superintendent.

Brother Keyes opened up the elections portion of the session in prayer and explanation of the requirements to hold a general office.

Brother Jones read his annual General Secretary's report, which was received as read.

Brother Haney read his annual General Superintendent's report, which was received as read.

Brother Jerry Jones read the minutes from the 2008 General Conference. The minutes were received as read.

The printed program was approved as the order of the day.

Brother Ernest Breithaupt was appointed as recording secretary.

Brother Randy Keyes read from Ephesians 4:17-32 and led the conference in prayer for the Lord's direction over His business.

Brother Haney opened the Business Session asking for all ministers to greet one another and to worship the Lord for "the day the Lord has made."
